HUJI is an internationally renowned multidisciplinary institution of higher learning and research, with ties extending to and from scientific and academic communities in Israel and abroad. The official language of the Symposium is English.
The weather in Jerusalem in March is mild during the day, with highs of 16°C/61°F,
and cool in the evenings, with lows of 9°C /48°F.
Clothing is informal for all occasions.
We recommend light clothing for the day and warm clothing for the cooler evenings.
Don’t forget your sunglasses, hat and comfortable walking shoes.
PASSPORTS & VISAS
Prior to booking your flight ticket, please ensure that your passport is valid for
at least 6 months from the date of the Symposium (until 30 September 2022).
Participants from some countries require a visa to enter Israel. We suggest that you check this
with your travel agent or on the website of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
LETTER OF INVITATION
Upon request, the Secretariat will send a personal letter of invitation to participate of the Symposium.
It should be understood that such an invitation is only meant to assist participants raise travel funds or obtain a visa and does not represent a commitment on the part of the Symposium Organizers.
Attendees should book their flights to Ben Gurion International Airport (airport code: TLV).
BETWEEN BEN GURION AIRPORT & SYMPOSIUM VENUE/HOTELS
Private Taxi (from official taxi stand only) – The cost for a one-way trip is approximately 320 NIS (US$ 100),
depending on time of day, number of passengers and luggage.
The trip should take approximately 40-60 minutes depending on traffic.
Shared Transfer Service - Nesher shared transfer service is available from Ben Gurion Airport.
There may be a waiting time as the driver only departs when there are 10 passengers.
Rate per person is approximately 70 NIS (US$ 22). There is a “Nesher” information desk at the airport.
Israel is located in the GMT+3:00 time zone.
The electrical power supply “voltage” in Israel is: 220-240 Volts (U.S./Canada: 110-120 Volts).
